Castellane
Free

This is the event that opens the cultural season, at the beginning of May. The sunny days are back and the gardens of the Pentagonal Tower are covered with flowers. We want to go out!

Every year we offer street arts and vertical activities combining heritage and outdoor sports.

A family event

In 2024 we collaborated with the association Estéron inspiration . They made and then installed giant origami in the shape of cranes. This aerial ballet guided visitors to the Pentagonal Tower Gardens for several weeks.

This is an event not to be missed. For young and old, enjoy a day of a mix of art and sport in the middle of the mountains and in the heart of an exceptional heritage.

The Pentagonal Tower

MOVEMENT

The Pentagonal Tower dates from 1359. It is part of the ramparts that have protected the town of Castellane since the Middle Ages. At the foot of the Tower, the Jardins de la Tour site offers a magnificent setting overlooking the village, the Roc and the Verdon valley.

The fortifications of Castellane are traditionally dated to 1359 and the years that followed. If the Pentagonal Tower can date back to the second half of the 14th century, it is not possible to say when the observable transformations took place, particularly at the level of the machicolation and the gorge. The tower was classified as a historic monument in 1921.
