Nautical activities are a whole organization in the Verdon and it's not for nothing! The river hides many traps which can be deadly. We have around fifteen rafting agencies and other water activities in Castellane, you will surely find what you are looking for and you will return home safe and sound.

Making cairns in the Verdon
The Verdon is an ecosystem that can be disrupted and affected if you modify its environment. Some species like the apron are threatened with extinction... On the banks of the Verdon as in the mountains, we must no longer make Cairns. Try instead to make a house of cards, apparently it's super hard... we still haven't succeeded!

Collect a fossil from the geological site

If you offered yourself a pedal boat ride or paddle on Lake Castillon you may find on your way a line with yellow buoys, this will be the sign to make a U-turn. Because on the other side is a military zone where it is obviously forbidden to go. But what is happening at the DGA (Directorate General of Armaments) of Lake Castillon? All we can tell you is that it is a naval technology testing center.

Sleeping by the lakes or the Verdon
Although it is very tempting to spend the night at the water's edge, be aware that wild camping and bivouac are prohibited in the Verdon regional natural park, which includes the lakes and the Verdon Gorges.
